When I was 19, I walked away from school and my job to make a trek to Chile, where I worked for two years as a missionary. I get immense personal satisfaction from working as a teacher to help others learn things they have struggled with their entire life. Few things feel better than being a part of the "ah-ha" moment for a student, and I know that one of my life's purposes is to provide assistance to those students who are trying to improve their knowledge of various subjects. The way I approach this as a tutor is to create an environment that is inviting and that fuels inspiration, not just the injection of information into someone's brain. I know I have been successful when a student can apply knowledge in several situations and is motivated to learn even more. I can tutor many subjects, including Biology, Spanish 1 and 2, English, AP Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Survey of the Natural Sciences. I can also help prep for graduate tests and the Dental Admission Test. I live in Riverside, Missouri. I like to ski, hike, cycle, cook, and camp. I also enjoy cars, fixing things, swing dancing, and ultimate Frisbee.
